I fell in love with orthodontics as a child when my father, Dr. Stanley C. Kimball II, also an orthodontist, gave me the opportunity to make his retainers and other orthodontic appliances. After learning that I had a real artistic gift, I focused my efforts on learning to be an orthodontist. I grew up locally, attending El Morro Elementary, Thurston Middle School, and Laguna Beach High School. Directly after high school, I attended Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, and served a (two-year) mission for my church in Puerto Rico. I earned my doctorate at Washington University, where I graduated top of my class. I then went on to specialize in orthodontics at Marquette University, graduating with honors.

What makes me different from all the rest is I understand that every face, like a snowflake, is unique and different. As an orthodontist in Orange County, CA, I carefully custom-design each smile with my 10-Step Kimball Smile Analysis. This – combined with my experience, knowledge, and a careful eye for aesthetics – allows me to enhance whatever makes you special by making your smile the very best it can be.
Over the last 25 years, I have had the fortunate opportunity to provide tens of thousands of patients with beautiful, panoramic, natural, healthy smiles. By utilizing state-of-the-art orthodontic technology and techniques, I take pride in ensuring that each patient enjoys maximum comfort and the shortest treatment time possible. I am passionate about sharing my expertise with everyone, and I’ve had multiple patients travel from all parts of the country to experience the Kimball Orthodontics difference. Kimball Orthodontics has also been featured in many prestigious magazines, including Parents and Family Fun, for our excellence in orthodontics.
I am a lecturer and leader in orthodontic software technology and the author and creator of WaveOrtho. I am the only orthodontist in the world who has designed and developed comprehensive Orthodontic Practice Management Software to efficiently manage every aspect of an orthodontic practice. You can find it running my own practice, as well as many other premier orthodontic practices across the world.
Away From The Office
During my free time, I enjoy distance running. I have completed over 30 marathons, including the prestigious Boston Marathon nine times and two full Ironman races. I also enjoy surfing, snowboarding, skiing, golf, spending time with my wife (of 30 years!) and three children, my new grandson “Nash”, and hanging out with my six brothers.

Dr. Travis Kinser has a passion for providing the highest quality orthodontic care to his patients. He has a thorough understanding of the latest techniques and technologies, and a commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest advancements through continuing education. He and Dr. Kimball met and instantly bonded over their shared treatment philosophy and practice style.
Dr. Kinser believes in focusing on the person attached to the teeth. He takes the time to get to know his patients, understands their unique needs and goals, and together develops personalized treatment plans that help you achieve the beautiful, healthy smile you deserve.
Whether you are looking for braces or a more subtle orthodontic treatment like clear aligners, Dr. Kinser is dedicated to providing you with the highest quality care and achieving excellent results in as short of treatment as possible.
Dr. Kinser attended Brigham Young University where he studied Business Management. He then attended UOP’s Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco where he excelled in many areas, but found his favorite to be orthodontics. He moved across the country to Jacksonville, Florida where he earned his Specialty Degree in Orthodontics as well as a Master’s Degree.
Dr. Kinser is married to the love of his life and has 3 wonderful children, with a 4th on the way; joining their family any day now. Family is everything to Dr. Kinser and spending time with those he loves brings him the most joy. He is an active member of his church and community and loves the game of basketball. He also enjoys spending time in the desert off-roading and at the beach enjoying the waves and sunshine. He also served the people of New Mexico as a missionary and fell in love with the culture, the food, and the people. He even learned to speak fluent Spanish!
